Homebird Pottery was set up in 2020 by ceramic artist Sorsha Galvin. Sorsha studied Ceramics and glass at the Royal college of Art, she was selected as a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and has exhibited her artworks in prestigious galleries such as the Royal Academy London.
Each Homebird Pottery piece is made by Sorsha at her studio in Galway. Her contemporary approach to a traditional craft, explores surrealistic imagery through the rich, sculptural and painterly qualities of clay.
Homebird Pottery also runs a series of pottery classes in Co.Galway, providing an opportunity for the public to try pottery for the first time and learn about the ceramic process. Sorsha has also worked with a variety of charities and mental health organisations over the past 10 years to bring art classes to vulnerable groups, most recently with the brothers of Charity here in Galway.
